Marnée’s Studio successfully completes Festival of Flowers display for Bellingrath Gardens

I created a total of 31 character sculptures based on Dr. Seuss’ “The Lorax” for the Bellingrath Gardens display in the 2017 Festival of Flowers. I also painted a 16′ structure (cut by the Bellingrath design team) to re-create the Once-Ler house from the story. Aside from some minor issues with the fish sculptures (that were partially exposed to dyed water in the pond), the display was extremely popular and met with positive feedback from the public. Budding Opportunity with Bellingrath Gardens
I discovered first hand how one opportunity could lead to another. While painting the piano at the Mobile Downtown Alliance, Bellingrath Gardens called looking for an artist to create a child face-in-the-hole board for an upcoming Christmas event. I was recommended for the compensated job, which I accepted. The end product was a 4.5’ tall gingerbread face-in-the-hole board. Everyone was very pleased with the outcome. Happy New Year!! The year 2016 was personally the most difficult year I’ve lived to date. However, as it was coming to a close it occurred to me that the hardships my family and I endured served as a catalyst for so many positive changes in our lives.
